CONSTRUCTION & RENOVATION
The general steps involve the trilogy of “Budget, Proposal, Quotation” in chronological order. In view of the fact that construction or renovation of building can take up a substantial amount of cost, the architect (in the case of construction) or the interior designer (in the case of renovation) will need to understand each client’s planned budget range.
In the bid to propose a practical blueprint, a construction project will involve a civil engineer who studies the geotechnical report of the site and a quantity surveyor who takes charge of the tender analysis and procurement advice. A renovation project is comparably less complicated but site measurement is mandatory.
A quotation will then be issued to the client based on the proposed blueprint that is to be handed to the assigned contractor.
INTERIOR DESIGN FRAMEWORK
It is of utmost importance for the client to disclose his/her budget plan at the early stage of discussion so as a design within the financial reach of the client is made possible. The client will also be questioned on his/her special requirements or preferred style which will be programmed into the design in addition to the budget concerns.
Upon understanding the needs and wants of the client, the interior designer will fulfil the duty to propose one or several design plan(s) that meet if not exceed the client’s expectations. Similar to the steps in construction and renovation, a quotation follows.
Precision matters much when it comes to designing, therefore accurate measurement of space is to be verified before any furnishing or carpentry work can be executed. Having much emphasis on aesthetic value, the interior designer will fully comprehend the overall style so as the new furnishing adds sparks to the design while maintaining a sense of harmony.
The client will soon receive a proposal of design that complements the residential or commercial space. A carpenter is then needed to turn to the idea into reality and transform the space into a splendid one.
